Today the Ropery is operated by The Master Ropemakers who produce rope commercially using both traditional and modern methods. Master Ropemakers Limited is the oldest rope manufacturer in the United Kingdom.
Its facilities comprise fibre spinning and ropemaking divisions and a test facility. Ropemaking on the site dates back to 1618.
Traditionally, Master Ropemakers specialises in the manufacture and supply of natural fibre ropes and yarns.
