Family Activities during School Holidays

Great Value Spring Family Fun!

We have lots of new activities to entertain the whole family throughout the late May Bank Holiday weekend and the half term school holidays. Entrance to all the galleries and attractions plus all the school holiday family activities are included in the normal admission price, offering great value for money as your ticket is valid for a whole year!  Many of the activites are undercover so you can still have a great day, even if it rains!

Lots of familty activities including lively storytelling sessions:  The Witch and the Rabbit and I Believe in Fairies Art and Craft activities:  Hat Making, a Hatters Hunt and a children's Mad Hatter themed Fancy Dress competition to be judged by the Dockyard Parrot! Plus tours of the elegant (and reputedly haunted!) Commissioner's House for all ages.

Using the formidable Seacat Missiles of HMS Cavalier for inspiration, this fun family workshop challenges you to construct and fire your own rocket missile.  how will your design fare in the final 'blast off'?

ZZ_1272015079_Family Ropery Tour_2.jpg The Dockyard Film Trail, downloadable here| has been inspired by the latest Sherlock Holmes film and complements other activities families can take part in during the school holidays including a Sherlock Holmes related ‘Word Search’. A Family Fun Trail downloadable here|, the popular Family Ropery Tour where visitors can make their own piece of rope and themed colouring are other activities which run during the holidays from 31st May to 6th June.

Opportunities for children to ‘let off steam’ are offered by the outdoor adventure play area and the recently refurbished and newly opened indoor play area and ball pool – The Railway Workshop, Picnic and Play where visitors can see the dockyard’s locomotives up close and personal!
