Launch of No.1 Smithery

Carnival style entertainment on 24 and 25 July in celebration of The Greatest 'Launch' at Chatham since HMS Victory!

No. 1 Smithery: National Treasures Inspiring Culture – a brand new museum experience and all-round treasure house for the whole family!

Carnival style entertainment by 'Smithery Workers' will greet you as you arrive at the brand new museum experience and cultural venue, No. 1 Smithery: National Treasures Inspiring Culture.

Stilt walkers, jugglers, fire performances, angle grinders making sparks fly, face painters and human statues will be performing throughout the day for your enjoyment in celebration of the 'launch' of No. 1 Smithery - the greatest 'launch' at Chatham since HMS Victory!

Come and join us for an exciting weekend of cultural fun and enjoy the performance art - all included in the normal admission price and don't forget - all tickets are valid for a whole year! if you are already a 12 month ticket holder this will be a great weekend to make one of your return visits!

An all-round treasure house, No.1 Smithery: National Treasure Inspiring Culture is a joint project between Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, the National Maritime Museum and the Imperial War Museum. It showcases unique and previously unseen maritime artefacts, national and international touring art, and the kind of education areas and interactive family learning and entertainment spaces that inspire all age groups.
