Practical Pirates - KS2
This one hour pirate-themed session for KS2 takes place on the Victorian sloop HMS Gannet. Pupils sing a sea shanty and learn about the origin of its lyrics. They then investigate Pirate articles, each of which has a story to tell and gives the children an understanding of what life at sea was like. Windows into War Day - KS2
This whole day of taught sessions offers great value for money. With the last surviving Second World War destroyer and a genuine air raid shelter to explore, The Historic Dockyard Chatham is the perfect venue to inspire your pupils and fire their imaginations.

Using a Second World War destroyer and a Cold War spy submarine as classrooms, your pupils will study an evocative wartime poem in the very environment in which it was written.
