Guided Walks and Tours To add to our very popular Royal Dockyard Tour you can now choose from a range of new experiences and guided tours appealing to those with special interests. Ranging from 45 minutes to a couple of hours these can be tailored to suit your group’s requirements. All walks and tours require pre booking and an additional charge applies. Each tour is a maximum of 25 people per guide.
‘Dickens’ Dockyard’
In celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth. Your costumed guide will take you on a walk to discover the Dockyard as seen through Dickens’s eyes, setting the scene of why he was so familiar with the Dockyard with descriptions based on extracts from his book ‘The Uncommercial Traveller’. This tour can be by foot or our guide will board your own coach.

Royal Dockyard Tour
Our knowledgeable guide will take your group around the dockyard either on foot or boarding your own coach, allowing you to discover its maritime history through the buildings, architecture, ships and people.

Railway Tour
Available in April & May 2012 only. Led by one of our very own steam enthusiasts, this tour takes you to the rail art exhibition and railway workshop. If your group are fanatical about Steam Trains this tour will be on the right tracks!

Go behind the scenes of the Ropery, walking in the footsteps of the master rope makers, and gain a totally different perspective on the traditional rope making process. The quarter of a mile long ropewalk never ceases to amaze. Weekends only.
