If you are getting married soon and looking for a stylish, memorable venue or helping to organise a couple's day, look no further.   Please contact us if you are looking for a late availability date.  When you book an event at The Historic Dockyard Chatham you are also helping us to preserve and maintain Commissioner's House and the rest of The Historic Dockyard.  There are two superb venues within the unique location of The Historic Dockyard to choose from:

Commissioner's House

This is an exquisite setting for your marriage or civil partnership ceremony and/or the reception which follows.
Commissioner's House is the oldest, and probably the most attractive naval building to survive intact in Britain today.  The moment you step into the Reception Hall at Commissioner's House you realise you're somewhere special.  Many couples remember the moment they first saw Commissioner's House...it was the moment they found their wedding venue.
Commissioner's House was built for the Commissioner and his family to entertain in the grand style but it was also a family home.  It is a friendly building that combines space and grandeur with the familiar qualities of an elegant home.
The House boasts; a Bridal Suite, Sunne Ceremony Room, a Ballroom, Pavillion Marquee, a Bar, an ornate Garden Balcony, Patio Courtyard and beautiful Edwardian Gardens for that perfect Wedding picture.

HMS Gannet (1878)

HMS Gannet (1878)

Not many people can boast they were married on a ship!  Well now you can, the magnificent Victorian naval three masted sloop is a real treat for those looking for an unusual and quirky location for a wedding ceremony and / or reception.
HMS GANNET (1878) was part of our nation's Victorian Navy, policing the waters of the British Empire.  HMS GANNET has been lovingly restored at The Historic Dockyard to her glorious 1886 condition.
HMS GANNET offers a truly unique setting for your wedding day and the perfect combination of grandeur and intimacy.  From a pre-ceremony champagne and canapes reception on the Main Deck of HMS GANNET, to your Ceremony at the Wheel, on the Quarter Deck or in the Commander's Cabin, this truly would be a wedding to remember.  HMS GANNET's awning will also protect you from the uncertain English Weather.
Why not combine this experience with your Wedding Reception at Commissioner's House and Gardens, just a five minute stroll through The Historic Dockyard.
The Wedding Team here know just how important your day is and will be able to assist you in every way to ensure your special occasion goes to plan.  The awning protects you from the uncertain English weather!
